As an affiliate of TULO (the Trade Union & Labour Party Liaison Organisation), GMB London Region has two places on TULO London and two places on TULO East of England, alongside other affiliated unions. We currently have one vacancy for a GMB London activist to join our TULO East of England delegation.

The delegates help set the TULO East of England priorities and promote the link between unions, including matters around campaigns, industrial action, funding, and support. TULO East of England meets roughly four times per year, usually during the day (hybrid).

The successful delegate will be elected for one year, and they will join James Wood (a staff member from our Political Team) who holds the other role.

To apply, applicants must:

• Be a member of the Labour Party.
• Be a member of GMB London Region for a minimum of 53 weeks.
• Either sit on the Regional Council, Regional Committee, GMB Councillor Network Executive, or be a Branch Political Officer.
• Live in a constituency within the East of England.

The successful applicant is expected to:

• Work with the Regional Political Officer (Peter Roberts) on agenda items and help advise on decisions from an activist’s perspective.
• Vote in accordance with GMB London’s positions.
• Be able to attend meetings, sometimes at short notice.
• Familiarise themselves with policies arising from GMB’s annual Congress and TULO.
• Abide by the rules, ethos, and aims of GMB.
• Conduct themselves in a professional manner, including when dealing with confidential information.
